Congratulations, White Sox!

Congratulations, Chicago White Sox!!

Just imagine this:
winning the World Series for the first time in 88 years.
What does it feel like?

Ozzie Guillen and Company won it all!
Freddy Garcia, now a veritable big game pitcher!

I enjoyed watching the Pale Hose play during this season
in a few games I saw because they played a smart baseball.
I think the general manager Ken Williams deserves credit
for assembling this team with imagination.

Podsednik, Iguchi, and other players brought in, played their roles very well.
Dye and Konerko, and Thomas when healthy, provided power,
Crede, Rowand and Uribe were great in clutch situations.

I had an impression that their bullpen earlier in the season were quite precarious
but towards the end of the season, they were formidable.

I enjoyed Ozzie Ball, and I'm sure, so did lots of baseball fans.

*Finally on a personal note

Now the long season is finally over, it's a little relief quite frankly.
The Mariners need to make changes like the Sox did too.
Starting from the people in charge of hiring, possibly.

Well, this I can do nothing about,
and frankly I will not lose my sleep over baseball in winter.
So, until Spring Training starts, baseball will probably not be on this blog.
(But will I be able not to write about it?)

Finally I can spend more time on studying the astronomy looking up at the beautiful sky.
Or learning about what's going on in Science: ecology, physics, mathematics and etc.,
reading haikus, writing letters, taking photographs
listening to radio (conventionally or via internet) and making pasta sauce.

Well, there is a lot more to life than baseball,
but I can't name anything that has been more enjoyable.
I only need some time to recharge, I guess,
three hours most of the weekdays is a commitment few can afford to make.
But I'm sure I'll come back for a new season,
hopefully for a team rejuvenated to write about.
